Although there’s no evidence on this blog, I guess I knitted too much. I can’t feel a great yarn appeal as I used to… so, should I lay down my needles and R.I.P.? Never!
I found new inspiration from Sara's
site and this
book and I took on a new challenge… I was not so confident upon my sewing skills but the book supported me with a lot of useful informations and easy to follow step by step instructions. Do I have to say that I had fun reading through the sewing patterns, trying to figure out how all this lining stuff works, learning new words and so on? Surely not!
Non ce n’è. Per la maglia intendo. non è il momento giusto, non ho l’ispirazione giusta, forse ho lavorato troppo… senza lasciare nemmeno tracce qui nel blog. Ma non riesco a mettere via i ferri senza avere nient’altro da fare. così mi sono fatta tentare dai lavori visti sul
blog di Sara e dai modelli di
questo libro. Non sono molto esperta di cucito, ma come al solito i manuali americani sono precisissimi e non sembra difficile seguire le istruzioni dettagliate passo passo per realizzare queste bellissime borse. Ovviamente mi sono fatta coinvolgere da questo bel gioco ed ho imparato nuove parole e nuovi trucchetti!
The first bag that I approached was the “Everyday reversible shopper”. As you can see from the picture it’s really huge… so I tried to adapt it and I made my personal version of the pattern.
Il primo esperimento riguarda questa shopper reversibile. La borsa è enorme… e così ne ho fatto una versione ridotta.
Well it doesn’t look like the original at all…. I cut the pieces without following any rule, but I sticked to the construction carefully and I am very happy. I managed to make the lining and the pockets and it can be reversed even if I like more the bright exterior than the interior.
Non le assomiglia per niente! eppure giuro che la costruzione è corretta, ho seguito le istruzioni, ma ammetto di aver tagliato la stoffa “a occhio”. Ho foderato tutta la parte interna riuscendo anche a fare le tasche, La borsa potrebbe anche essere reversibile, io però preferisco il lato colorato.
Another reason to be satisfied is the fact I used old pieces of fabric I had been keeping for so long! The green-yellow-red fabric is part of an old coach covering, the green lining was one of my favourite dresses, one I was very fond of and used to wear when I was pregnant. Of course more new ideas are ahead, just take a look at

Altro motivo di soddisfazione è il tessuto. L’esterno viene dall’ultimo pezzo del rivestimento di un vecchio divano Ikea, l’interno è stato invece uno dei miei premaman preferiti. Mi piace pensare alla nuova forma che queste vecchie cose hanno assunto e neanche a dirlo mi sono venute molte altre idee! Date
