The Last Knit”!
Continental method” …
Eccomi concentratissima a fare gli esercizi…
(ma si può essere così… "stranded"?)
PS:
ecco un risultato impareggiabile!
Let’s come back to knitting…
I’m persisting in “stranded knitting” for over two weeks. This technique allows you to knit with two colours stranded on wrong side of work, it’s the basic for “Fair Isle” patterns.
I started with a very small project (
these mittens designed by
SaRi), to avoid a frontal and traumatic impact, nevertheless I am rather awkward…
I spent more time in unraveling yarn, keeping myself in a silent rage because I lack of fancy in finding out suitable words to show all my frustration, rather than knitting…then I read some good advices in Ravelry’s forums, finally I turned to Elizabeth Zimmermann, the supreme guide!
I'm reaching a turning point, a point of no return, either I fling my needles away or I’ll plunge in a tunnel like “
the last Knit”!
It’s kind of learning to play piano with both hands…a high degree of vituosity like Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli…it isn’t playing “plin-plin” any more, it’s like playing arpeggios!
Now I’ll try to explain myself better…you knit one colour with your right hand following the “
English method” (my usual technique!), the other with your left hand in “
Continental method” …
Here I am, all wrapped up while practising…
(how can I be so…”stranded”?)
PS:
that's an unbeatable result!
