Senza modestia

Ha un solo difetto ... è troppo piccolo e serve una spilla per tenerlo a posto.

Ho usato 150 grammi (460 metri) di filato da calze che è bastato per lo scialle e per un piccolo scaldacollo basato sullo schema Poinsettia.

It has one flaw only ... it's too small and needs a clasp to be held in place.

I used a skein of sock yarn to knit both the shawl and a small cowl following the Poinsettia pattern

Vacan..te

Finite le vacanze. Il mio posto al sole e la mia "sciammerica" aspetteranno pazientemente l'anno prossimo.

Holidays are over. My sunny place and my favourite dress will patiently wait till next summer.

Il mio cielo

Conserverò tra le cose preziose questo cielo, il vento fresco, e questo paesaggio che conosco da sempre e continua a sorprendermi per la sua bellezza semplice e povera.
Nel mio cielo il sole nasce laggiù dalla pianura e percorrendo un arco, che si accorcia e si allunga con le stagioni, si spegne in un incendio di luce dietro le cime del monte Vulture.
Qui si ha la sensazione che il tempo corra come questo vento, trasformando solo le persone e lasciando il resto intatto.
Ora che sono già lontana mi resta una dolcissima tristezza, quella che si prova per gli amori che si riconoscono quando ormai sono già perduti.



I took these pics during a short holiday in my native town and, although I know this landscape since I was a child, I'm always surprised by its poor and simple beauty.
This sky is mine, here the sun rises from the plains and following an arch than shortens and stretches with seasons, it sets behind the peaks of Mount Vulture with flames of light.
Here time flows like cool wind, leaving all unchanged but people.
Now that I'm far away I'm suffering for a sweet sadness, just like the feeling for a love that's recognized only when it's gone.

Never ending joy

20 luglio 1969-2009

Forse quarant'anni fa i giovani avevano molte più aspettative per il futuro. La luna e i sogni sembravano più vicini, quasi realtà.
Questo è il racconto più bello ed emozionante su quegli anni.

Maybe forty years ago young people had great expectations for the future.
Moon and dreams really seemed much closer to reach, almost reality.
This is the most beautiful and exciting tale about those years.

On the needles

This is the first of my very long series of WIPs. Lutea lace-shoulder shell by Angela Hahn.
I'm using my only three skeins of Rosarios4's Biobamboo and fearing it couldn't be enough I decided to make a provisional cast on and knit from right below the armholes up. Now the first two skeins are all used up … and all my fears have vanished!
I altered the lace stitch pattern by using a double centered decrease instad of the two different methods suggested for the right and left shoulder.
This bamboo yarn is a dream to handle and to wear because is much smoother than silk.

The second, Ishbel by Isolda Teague, is a real "must have", so popular among ravelers that I had to try it. I'm knitting the large version and I think that it will grow even larger because I'm going to cast off only when I'll run short of yarn ... and I still have 7 skeins in my stash!
The pattern is well written and this knit runs on the needles so I can't wait to see the final result! Yarn is a gift my friend Sabine sent me during SP11, and I think is perfect for this project.

The third is still in a very early stage and actually is waiting to take off, but I bet I'll have a lot of knitting fun with the Swallowtail lace shawl.

Last but not least I've got a lot of mini-projects in progress for Cuore di Maglia....

Un saluto speciale a Startare!

Stavolta ho dato la precedenza alla parte più difficile, non sto a ripetere le parole ed i links.
Ho tantissimi lavori in corso, forse non ne ho mai avuti così tanti.
Il top marrone è fatto con un filato strepitoso, bambù biologico, più liscio e morbido della seta, un vero piacere da lavorare e da indossare.Quando passo a lavorare lo scialle blu la differenza di morbidezza è abissale!
Lo scialle blu è un modello che ha spopolato su Ravelry e che lavorerò fino a portarlo alle dimensioni di una coperta (o quasi), perchè devo azzerare la scorta che ho di questo filato.
Ho appena iniziato uno scialle piccolo e intricato ed ho tanti piccoli lavoretti in corso per Cuore di Maglia. Prima o poi ne uscirò ...
